Dealing with the stress!
Having work done in your home, even with the best tradesmen, can be a trying experience. However with the following tips and with the right frame of mind, it doesn't have to be.
Here are some tips to help things go smoothly!
• Research your project.
Having got this far you will already know roughly what you want, however, i'm sure you will also have a lot of questions. Now is the time to get as many ideas as possible. Vist shops, search the internet and call me!
• Allow plenty of time.
Don't rush into things and have an open mind about timescales. Remember that you will have to live with your desisions. Bear in mind things like delivery times and remember, the best tradesmen are usually busy tradesmen!
• Arrange your installation date.
There are lot's of things to consider. Do you want to be around during the work or away? Will school holidays interfere?
Materials and waste may have to be stored at your property before and whislt work is carried out.
• During the work
During larger projects expect to be without water, electric or gas for short periods. You may have to plan around living without a room such as a kitchen or bathroom for a week or two, however, if necessary I can do work in stages to minimise disruption. This will be discussed from the outset.
Remember communication is key. I will always try to plan around my customers and keep them informed but if you have any questions or problems don't be afraid to ask as soon as they arise. Above all else, remember I am on your side and want your project to be successful as much as you do.
I will always try to be as clean and tidy as possible. I will use dust sheets and take care of your home. At the end of each day I will spend time returning your home to it's original state as much as I can but dust and mess are inevitable during the work. Try to be reasonable and plan around this by clearing and preparing rooms wherever possible.
• After completion
When the job is complete you will have a chance to inspect my work and try things out. Where neccesary I will demonstrate how to use and take care of your new products. If you are unsure of anything just ask but I will always be available afterwards to answer any questions.
